eBox Administrator - Managing eBox Users

This tutorial will show you how to Manage eBox Users.

Only eBox Administrators can manage users.

 

Create New eBox Users

In this example, we are creating a new user named Jane Doe.

 

Login to the eBox Web Interface. Click on the Management Console icon

 

Under Users
Click Add New User

 

Select Native User

 


1. Enter user's first name
2. Enter user's last name
3. Enter user's email address
4. Set a storage size* for user
Click CONTINUE

* Recommended sizes: 100GB (Plan One), 1000GB (Plan Two), and Any Size for Plan Three. You can set higher limits up to your total usable space. If you are the only user and would like to allocate all the total usable space to yourself, please email support to request this.

 

Click CONTINUE

 

Click COMMIT

 

You will see your newly created user.

 

We will send a temporary password to your user's email address.
The first time they login, they will be prompted to change their password.

 

Delete eBox Users

In this example, we will delete a user named Jane Doe.

 

Click on the Management Console icon

 

Under Users, select the user you want to delete

 

Click the Delete icon

 

At this prompt, click YES

 

Change a User's Email Address

In this example, we will change the email address for Bob Doe.

 

Click on the Management Console icon

 

Under Users, select the user you want to change the email address for.

 

Under Account Information
Click EDIT on the email address line

 

Enter the user's new email address
Click UPDATE

 

Change a User's Password

In this example, we will change the password for Bob Doe.

 

Click on the Management Console icon

 

Under Users, select the user you want to change the password for.

 

Under Account Information
Click RESET PASSWORD on the email address line

 

Enter the user's new password
Click SUBMIT
An email will be sent to the user with their new password.

 

Suspend eBox Access for a User

In this example, we will suspend eBox access for Bob Doe.

 

Click on the Management Console icon

 

Under Users, select the user you want to suspend eBox access for.

 

Under Account Information
Click SUSPEND on the User is allowed to access line

 

To resume eBox access for this user
Click RESUME on the User is suspended line
